Actually No

Today I was told by a customer that Starbucks actually owns the coffee shop I work in and that it just doesn't have the Starbucks name on it because the city won't allow a Starbucks because it wants to preserve it's image or something.

This is the same person who ordered in Starbucks-ian instead of, you know, off OUR menu, and I was like, "haha, that's Starbucks, we have x, y, and z here, which would you prefer?"

So, for the record, actually no, Starbucks does not secretly own my workplace. I know this because I WORK THERE.

Why does everyone think Starbucks is so godly and owns the world now?
I just think its overpriced coffee.

That would've be rather funny/awkward. ;D

Starbucks owns a pretty decent sized portion of many people's souls, I do believe.

You know they don't consider other coffee shops to even be their competition, not even Dunkin Donuts? No, they don't care about other coffee places. They care about other HUGE ASS companies, like Coca-Cola. That's right, they consider Coca-Cola to be their competition.

Scary-ass coffee vendors!

Starbucks owns my soul. Sadly.

But there's no Starbucks in Hungary so I only go there when I'm abroad.

Where is the closest Starbucks to you? I was in Greece a few years ago and saw a Starbucks in Athens - years before that I was in the UK and saw no Starbucks but I am pretty sure they are there now.

Vienna, maybe. Or Prague.
