Odds And Ends
Sep. 27th, 2009 11:25 pmThe thing about Hanna is that just because we had this fantastic night together doesn't really mean anything - it doesn't mean we're going to live happily ever after or anything like that. I felt the same way the first night I spent with Whinnie - it's just a feeling. It doesn't really mean anything.
Also, I don't really have a job anymore, being that I quit mine. Because I thought I was going to China. My last day was Thursday - I mean, obviously, they know I'm not actually leaving, but, the season is over and all the summer people are done working and everyone's hours were cut down - I'm unnecessary. There are no shifts for me, because they thought I was leaving. So I'm working... Saturday mornings. And that's it. That's all I've got. Four hours a week. If more shifts open up, of course I can have them. But as of now, they've all been promised to other people. So I need to try to find a job.
B is still in the ICU, he still has a fever, and he's starting to get very bored. In a way, bored is kinda good - it means he's aware enough, often enough, to actually get bored. But... of course it still sucks. This morning I took his iPod, sent his iTunes my Doctor Who audioplays, and re-synched the iPod and then brought it back. He doesn't watch New Who but knows Classic Who a bit - I don't have that much share-able audio stuff, I mean, I have some Xena podfics... some Harry Potter podfics... I have some Discworld audiobooks but I got them from him...
And I went to lunch with his mom today before she went back to NYC and she kind of interrogated me... which was really really awkward. For many reasons. One of which being that from the small amount of information B's ever given me about her, um, I don't have a very high opinion of her parenting skills. Yeah, way to have a kid with a guy who's already married and then decide you don't want the kid after all. Or, no, wait, apparently get the kid taken away by social services. Great parent you are, way to pretend you're actually curious about who this girl your son is dating is.
And that's kind of it for now.
