And Also

(Yes, I forgot to title my entry yesterday, what, I was distracted!)

So, some things, let's see... so, right, since I live in an apartment owned by the school, even though its a regular apartment and all, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, kitchen, entryway, etc, and not anything like a dorm room, well, I still have to follow the building rules, and one of those rules is that I can't have an overnight guest for more than two nights in a row. Doesn't matter if my room mates are ok with it or not, it's just against the rules. (And also, if I want to have anyone over, they have to sign in at the front desk and leave their ID there for the duration of their visit...) So one of the reasons Bevan couldn't come visit me for my winter break was because he couldn't stay here with me. Now, he's been working on and off the whole time he's been away, so now he has a little more money and so we're staying together in a motel here in the city. Which seems sort of outrageous but that's just the way it is.

Except for, see, it's him that has the money. Not me. I don't have any. Like any. Like I'm already operating in the negative here. And who's card would not work at the motel? Right. Same person who used it in Tokyo, Shanghai, HCMC, (I don't think he got off the plane in Incheon), LA, and NYC in the space of a week. So... what, add Philadelphia to that list and suddenly it gets flagged as suspicious??

So, this is not a credit card, this is a bank card with a credit logo on it. You know, the thing you stick in an ATM and money comes out, and you can use it to pay for stuff at a store, but it's not a credit card, if the money isn't there you can't spend it? That? Right. Bevan doesn't have any credit cards. Just cards attached to bank accounts. So... this card? The one that's attached to the account that has the money he's been making in it? Right, it's a Woori Bank card. It's a Woori Bank card that was issued in China (Woori is like the Korean bank... because you can't open a bank account at a Chinese bank unless you have a Chinese resident ID card, but you can at a Woori Bank because it's there for Koreans, so you don't have to have documentation saying you're Chinese cause that's not who they're catering to) so anyway, the number on the back of the card that you call if there are problems with the account... yeah. You're calling China. You're calling a Korean bank in China. Have fun with that.

I mean he did set the account up without having to speak any English. But that was in person. Not over the phone. So... I know there is at least one Woori bank here, because I used to live near it, and there are probably other ones, so he's going there to try to get the hold taken off his card this afternoon while I'm in class. But until then, we used my credit card at the motel and mine is just about but not quite used up. So if this isn't resolved in like two days, they're gonna start declining my card.

Ummm, also, I need to either decide to do something about my classes, or just make myself stick this out. I was inclined to just make myself do it, and I feel like I should be able to, but now I don't know. I mean, whether or not I "should" be able to just make myself focus, make myself buckle down and get things done, um, if I'm just physically exhausted then it doesn't really matter if I can mentally do it or not. Well, spring break will help. I really need a break.
