School These Days
Sep. 19th, 2011 08:43 pmWell, I went to school on Friday. I am taking two classes online this semester so I don't have to try to cram four of them in next summer, but they have nothing to do with my major. One is a bible class, which is interesting in that I find it interesting how the bible is taught in a college setting, and easy cause of course I've read the bible several times over. My other class is a social studies class, and it's interesting to me because it's a discussion based class but it's online. So I've been participating in these scheduled discussions with people I've never seen. The topics we discuss often touch on things like race, class, and sexual orientation, and yet unlike a face to face discussion, I don't have the information about people that would be gained just by looking at them. Except for on Friday we had our first in person meeting, so now I have some faces to put with the names. And the meeting was a lecture - we had no discussion.
I'm also not the only person who introduced herself as hello my name is (my name) and I'm taking this class because it's available online and I need the credits :p
It was nice to get back on campus, even if it was just for part of one day.
Therapy is still kicking my ass.
And that's really all. Sorry. This journal is boring now.
