Different Way To Think
Jun. 3rd, 2009 10:35 pmSo.
Sometimes more than other times I am more aware of just how differently my boyfriend thinks about things.
This is one of those times.
I say: You might like me now, but you don't really know me. You don't know how I really am.
He says: No, I know who you really are, and I like you fine
I say: You don't understand. I'm hiding myself. I'm not doing those other things that I hate about myself because I don't want you to decide you can't stand me. But just because you've never seen me do X Y and Z doesn't meant I don't do those things. It's still part of who I am.
He says: If you've chosen to stop doing things you don't like to see yourself do, that doesn't mean you're hiding stuff about yourself. It means you've changed. What's wrong with changing into who you'd rather be?
Yeah.
Very different thought process.
