No, not really superdrama. *shakes fist* but one day, one day..!

Ok so, I go to the supermarket. I do not want to interact with anyone. Not other shoppers, not store employees, nada. I pick up my toothpaste and my bananas and my english muffins and head straight for the self-checkout line. No personal interaction there. Scan your own stuff, put the money in the machine, the end.

Or so it should be.

Why, why when I go to the self-checkout area, does a store employee always follow me and stand over my shoulder to "help" me use the thing? "Okay press start!" "Go ahead and scan now!" (or, takes the thing out of my hands and scans it for me and puts it in the bag and says "here you go!") "Press total!"

These "instructions?" They're all written right on the screen. The whole thing is completely self-explanatory, even if I'd never operated a scanner and cash register before, I'm sure I could figure it out without a problem. In other words... I don't need help! I just want to be left alone!

Grrrr.

That's all for now.
