More Crazy
Nov. 21st, 2009 04:10 pmAsk me what I'm doing for Christmas.
Forget Thanksgiving - my family here is all wrapped up in my cousin's wedding, so Thanksgiving has been swallowed up in all of that. I'll see that entire side of the family next weekend - that's enough for me.
But for Christmas... for Christmas, I think I'm going to Disney World.
This is also a good kind of crazy.
No one is going to miss me on Christmas, I guarantee you that one. B says his mom might be a little insulted that he doesn't see her, but he'll just make sure to visit her a different day. And so... Bevan, me, Jason, and Minh are going to Disney World for Christmas. B says this is really because Jason wants that badly not to come home for Christmas. He wants to see B. He does not want to set foot in Jersey or in his father's house. He tried to pass it off like it's because Minh loves everything Disney and she's never been in the United States before and they can't come here and not go there. But I'm sure B is right.
I've never been to Disney World before. I always thought it was super expensive - apparently, it really isn't. Cause at first I was like, um, are you kidding me? I don't have any money. And B was like, well, we don't have to pay for the plane tickets (Jason will buy them, he said) and I know why you don't have any money, it's because your money is all with China Eastern for the plane tickets (this is true - I paid for both of us, and with delaying the departure and all, $1400 has turned into $1800, and even that is cheap for two tickets to China) so you just pay what you can, I'll pay for the rest. And I was like, you're crazy. You don't just have a bunch of money laying around for a Disney vacation, do you... wait. I mean, do you?
Well. Between collecting unemployment from his landscaping job and collecting out-of-work insurance money from his car insurance, and then considering that he does not pay rent or anything like that... apparently, yes, he does. And with the economy the way it is, Disney has a whole lot of discount deals and it's just... not that expensive. A couple thousand dollars.
So. Tell me again how crazy I am.
And I will tell you how super excited I am about Disney World! Jason insisted on speaking to me in person on the phone about this - even though B told him I wanted to go before he even actually asked me if I did, lol - and I assured him that yes, absolutely, I want to do this, no, there is not family that will be heartbroken if I'm gone for Christmas, and yes, I do go on rides and yes, I will be fine walking around the park. That last bit is not actually true - but I'll work something out.
So none of us have been there before - although Jason and Minh have been to Disney Japan like three times - so I've been just looking up Disney stuff all day :P The more I read, the more awesome it seems!
