exhilaration: (me)
[personal profile] exhilaration
So me and Erica and Bevan and Hanna watched the baseball game at a bar last night, and are fully intending to watch the next one tomorrow.

Oh no wait actually, I am fully expecting Erica to be in Philly for the weekend even though she made plans with us to watch the game here. Cause she does stuff like that.

And, lol, I say "the baseball game" like it's the only one. The Phillies game, guys. That's what I watched. On TV, at a bar. Phillies won. I'll spare you all the details, cause I know if you care, you would have seen it too.

I never, ever gave a rat's ass about sports, but I am actually starting to get into baseball. I'd go to another game. I'd go to a game after dark, that is. Not in the middle of the day in the blazing hot sun, thanks.

So I'm kinda worried about my hair - this wedding is coming up, you know, mine and B's "date," and I have THE SHOES and I'm working on a nice dress outfit, and my hair is cupcake pink and I love it being cupcake pink but I don't think I want to be "that girl that B brought with the pink hair." It's just so... pink... I was thinking of re-dyeing it a darker, deeper pink, without bleaching my roots, so that'll make it darker towards the top... I don't know. I'm being a little obsessive about my hair and about getting dressed up, I think. But whatever, I do things like that.

Anyway. [livejournal.com profile] illiorsfool did this and I wanted to do it too!

How old were you in 1990?: 2. SIX!

Are you afraid of the dark?: Good show, Nickelodeon rocked my Saturday nights. Snick, you know, big orange couch and all.

Did clarissa really explain it all?: Dude, Clarissa was my fave. She wore the best clothes - she had the best hats! And she and Sam totally should have hooked up!

Did you read and collect all goosebumps books?: Not allowed

Do you remember when Tupac, Biggie, & Selena died?: I do. And I remember wondering if Tupac and Biggie really were dead or if it was some kind of conspiracy. Selena I think just got a made for TV movie or something, but Tupac and Biggie were legends. And Bone Thugs and Harmony wrote that "Crossroads" song. And I just have to add this: STUPID GANGSTA RAP, GLORIFYING HOOD VIOLENCE AND GANGSTA LIFESTYLE, GETTING PEOPLE KILLED FOR NO REASON. (my neighbor from when I lived in Philly was shot as a result of some stupid hood bullshit.)

Did you own a t-shirt (then, not now) to show that you cared?: Cared about what?

Did you want to get slimed with that green Nickelodeon slime?: OMFG if someone dumped slime on me I would have killed them, no way am I getting all green and icky, especially on TV!

Did you watch Keenan and Kel?: I never got into that.

Did you own a nintendo?: Not allowed.

How about a sega genesis?: Not allowed...

Did you get the first game boys?: NOT ALLOWED

Did your furby ever die on you?: Seriously, guys. Not allowed to have a furby. My friend had one though and it freaked me out.

You got one of those tap records from Home Alone for x-mas?: One of those what?

What power ranger did you always fight to be?: Was not allowed to watch...

Smokey the bear says: Only you can prevent forest fires!

Did you get jiggy with it? I sure did! And I still like Will Smith! I liked his TV, I liked his music, I like his movies... I liked the shower scene in "I, Robot"... You know how straight girls always have a crush on Angelina Jolie? Well this gay girl has a crush on Will Smith!

You owned a spice girls cd?: Ah, well, no, but, my friend did make me a tape, and I hid it from my mom, so "not allowed" doesn't apply here, because while I wasn't, I had one anyway!

Which spice girl were you destined to be?: Oh, I was scary spice, obviously, because of my hair. Oh you didn't know? My "real" hair is dark brown and very curly, and in the 90s, that's what it looked like.

Were you obsessed with Lisa Frank?: Yeah right, like my mom would let us have stuff like that. Five dollar pencils my ass!

Did you collect Tamagotchis?: My sister did. I was "too cool."

Did you own a pair of roller blades?: I've never rollerbladed in my life. Roller skated, yes, and I owned roller skates, and I hung out at the skating rink. But not rollerblades. Theres a really bad movie out there called "Roller Blade" about nuns who wear roller skates and carry knives in the apocalypse, it was probably made in the eighties...

Did you do the macarena?: Of course I did. Actually, I found myself doing the macarena the other day... don't ask.

Did you love push pops?: Oh, no, those things were nasty.

Did you like polly pockets?: I don't recall having an opinion on those.

Did you watch every episode of saved by the bell?: Close to it.

What about the Fresh Prince?: Every day after school on Philly57! Now, this is the story all about how my life got flip-turned upside down (cue Will Smith pretending the spray paint is deodorant...)

Were you or your older sibling addicted to 90210?: Addiction is a strong word. Watched it when my parents weren't looking, though.

Did you cry during the Titanic?: What? No! I don't cry at movies! And, I only saw it once. I was not one of those "seen it thirteen times" girls. I may or may not have sang harmony along with Celine Dion when no one was listening, though.

Did The Blair Witch Project scare you?: No, but it did make me sick in the theatre cause of the camera shaking and flashing and stuff.

Do you remember the Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky scandal?: Yeah I remember gaping in disbelief - you impeach a president over THAT?

Was Steve Urkel destined to be with Lora Winslow?: Aw, man, I don't even know what show Urkel is from, I've never seen it, and I only know who he is from remembering other kids imitating him pulling his pants up. Again, NOT ALLOWED.

Did you ever end a sentence with PHSYCE!?: No. PSYCHE!

Who were better the Backstreet Boys or Nsync?: I was way, way, way to cool for those kids!

I love you, You love me, were a: Barney gave me HIV! Nope, never seen Barney either.

Did the Lion King make you cry?: I thought we covered this? I don't cry at movies! They're movies! And I remember not being all that impressed with Lion King. After Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and the Little Mermaid, I was expecting something phenomenal (and the animation was...) and I was like, wait, that was it?

Did you play board games like Sorry?: I owned Sorry.

Did you have light up sneakers?: I want to say no. But part of me is remembering that perhaps yes. But maybe that's my imagination. I remember hearing the story of the kid who stole something and ran off into the woods with it and the police found him cause they saw his shoes lighting up....

Weren't the Rugrats better before they were all grown up?: They grew up? When did this happen?

Did you watch Rocko's Modern Life?: Yeah and I was always left with the feeling that I didn't "get it."

How about Doug?: Yeah, taped it, religiously. Good show.

Hey Arnold?: Couple times.

Did you watch Arthur on PBS?: Yay!

How about legends of the hidden temple?: OH YES I SURE DID!

Did you read the Curduroy bear?: I did but really I think this book was around in the 80s.

What were the Animaniacs supposed to be?: I was not allowed to watch...

Did you watch Fox Kids?: No.

Life with Louie?: Don't know this show

Bobby's World?: Or this one.

Reading Rainbow?: Now this show was definitely around in the 80s! Right?

Bill Nye the Science Guy?: Didn't like it.

The Tick?: no.

AAAAAH! Real Monsters?: no

Muppet Babies?: Also didn't like this one.

The Dinosaurs?: I have a very, very vague memory of a commercial for this show...

Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure?: Well. You may not believe this, but Bill and Ted was actually the first non-cartoon non-children's non-musical movie I had ever seen.

Full House?: Yeah...

Did you collect Trolls or Beani Babies?: And now we're back to "wasn't allowed"

Did you watch Tiny Toons?: No, but I remember the theme song anyway, "we're tiny, we're toony, we're all a little loony, and in this cartoon-y we're invading your tv!"

Did you pretend to smoke candy cigarettes?: YES I DID. Both before and after they were banned from school!

How old were you in 1999?: I was 15.

Wow, I like this meme, I think I'll do it too.

But how exactly were you 2 in 1990 if you were 15 in 1999? :))
