Yes, but.... Those things aren't really anything directly affecting your life. Spring break does. At some point we do kinda just have to ignore the stuff that is really outside what directly influences us and what we can influence. 200 years ago, it would have taken weeks or months to find out that anything at all had happened there.
Also, you are naturally ignoring all the other catastrophes in the universe that are occurring. I mean, there is probably some inhabited planet out there that has it's entire population being wiped out right now due to meteor strikes or something. We just don't know about it. So life goes on for us like it's not really happening.
And on top of everything else they're facing issues with the powerplants. I'm so glad I live in a country that doesn't have nuclear plants, the ChCh aftershocks were stressful enough without thinking about things like that.
It's not like you're posting "aw, the car I want might take longer to be made now", and you clearly have Japan in your thoughts. So no one's going to judge you for feeling almost-end-of-vacation sadness.
