Contacts in eyes.
Bevan says I am going to regret this, as I am going to find myself wanting them out suddenly and having no way to accomplish that.
I remind him of the first night I was home and told him to put my fuzzy blanket over my face while I slept and he said no, because I would wake up with a blanket over my head and want it off and freak out. I did not.
There have been plenty of circumstances where my contacts were bothering me and I was simply too lazy to get up and take them out. This can't be much different.

Date: 2011-06-23 01:19 am (UTC)He's fine doing all kinds of other things for me, but I guess touching my eyeballs is where he draws the line. It kind of makes sense, because since he's never worn contacts, he has no IDEA how to put them in, so of course he'd be kinda freaked out.
I, however, have worn contacts since I was like... eleven. Someone else touching my eyes does not freak me out. Hanna, also, has worn contacts forever. She came over very, very briefly today, and when I said my glasses were bothering me, she was like, oh. I guess you can't put your contacts in, huh? And I was like, nope, and Bevan won't, cause apparently my EYES, of all things, are gross. And she was like, geez, well, if it's bugging you so much and you wouldn't mind, ILL give it a try.
And I was like, oh yeah, you can totally do it. And she did, and it was not a big deal. I guess to someone who doesn't wear contacts it would seem freaky (or at least to Bevan it does) but really, when it's something you've been doing every morning for over a decade, it's not that big of a deal to have someone else do it, as long as they know what they're doing. Once you get over the whole "whoa, you are WAY in my personal space!" thing, which is more why Hanna was hesitant about it in the first place.
